The smart poles designed in Bhopal are to have 200 kilometres long fibre network built underground. These poles are being called smart as they would facilitate seamless internet access via public Wi-Fi hotspots, digital billboard, surveillance cameras, charging points for electric vehicles (EVs) and weather sensors to measure climate conditions. This would be instrumental in strengthening the base to increase and polish the use of Internet of Things (IoT) in the long run.
