The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has launched a nationwide campaign for the betterment of PMAY beneficiaries. The PMAY: Housing for All which was launched in April 2015 is now in its third phase till March 2022. The mission which had two components to it PMAY-Urban and PMAY-Rural only addressed the provision of houses and not the provision of social infrastructure which is provided under different schemes that complete the living environment.88 lakh beneficiaries have been selected against the demand of 1.12 crore for this campaign

According to the Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs , Hardeep Singh Puri the PMAY beneficiaries will now get LPG connection under Ujjwala scheme, life insurance under Ayushman Bharat and water management under Jal shakti. The objective of Angikaar is to bring social behaviour change with special focus on waste management, water and energy conservation, tree plantation, sanitation, health and hygiene. The promotion of this campaign is to be carried out to raise awareness among the people. Collector K. Veera Raghava Rao on October 14 launched Angikaar awareness campaign in Ramanathapuram. The PMAY beneficiaries were holding placards in order to promote the convergence of various schemes under PMAY. Under the campaign, they were encouraged to maintain two separate bins for solid waste, use LPG cooking gas for smokeless kitchens and adopt the concept of cohesive living. Under Jal Shakti, they were encouraged not only to harvest rainwater but also practice judicious use of water and saving every single drop.

Such more awareness campaigns will soon start all over the country after the Angikaar campaign was rolled out on 2nd October.
