MoHUA Launches Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme Awaas Portal under PMAY scheme


Housing for all scheme which was launched in 2015 had four components to it: in situ rehabilitation, Beneficiary led construction, Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme(CLSS), and Affordable housing in partnership. Hardeep Singh Puri, current Civil Aviation minister of India and Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs said that government has launched CLSS Awaas portal(CLAP) on 25th November 2019 to enable house production under PMAY and GHTC-India.

The Global Housing Technology Challenge-India was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in January 2019, as a part of Construction Technology year to look for alternative technologies for speedier construction of affordable houses.

The union minister of Housing and Urban Affairs said that the app is being launched with the initiative to address grievances beneficiaries of the PMAY scheme in a more effective manner. The CLSS Awaas portal aims to provide real-time monitoring for the beneficiaries of the Credit Linked subsidy services. The portal apart from helping the beneficiaries in tracking will also be helpful for stakeholders to work in unity to release subsidy to the beneficiaries.

The CLSS component of PMAY aims to benefit young professionals having an income of 18 lakh to get houses at an affordable rate. The government has managed to reach 8 lakh beneficiaries so far.
