Endress+Hauser to bid for water management for smart cities



To grow its India business, Endress+Hauser(India), an outfit of Switzerland-based instrumentation and process automation company, is betting big on water management under Smart Cities Mission.

According to Kailash Desai, CEO, Endress+Hauser (India), the process measurement and automation industry is estimated to be at INR 2,500 crore in India.

Such solutions are used in industries like water and waste management, food and beverages, chemicals and oil & gas, among others.

Desai said, The government is promoting smart cities and as a part of the Mission, the focus will be on the quality and distribution of water. We see this segment growing by about 40% in the next two-three years.

Endress+Hauser, which competes with companies such as Rockwell, ABB and Emerson, holds 19% share in the process automation industry.
