LMC seeks land for waste collection in its colonies

The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) has urged the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) and UP Housing and Development Board to provide land for collection of waste in their colonies. The corporation is irked by the fact that most of the colonies developed by the two housing agencies don’t have provisions for primary collection of waste in their projects.

The LMC has said that the biggest flaw of urban planning in Lucknow is that the new colonies don’t have any arrangement for collection of waste. The worst affected areas are colonies developed on Kanpur Road like South City, LDA colony, Aashiana Colony and the many housing projects in the outskirts of the city.
