India Spain to finance joint research on renewable energy

India and Spain have agreed to finance joint research projA?ects in the area of forecastA?ing of wind power and fabriA?cation of cost effective solar cells.

Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah and visitA?ing Spanish Minister of State for Research Development and Innovation, Carmen Vela Olmo, agreed to initiA?ate a second call for research proposals to encourage joint research and development between research instituA?tions as well as industry groups of both the countries.

India is the fifth largest country in the world when it comes to wind power installed capacity. While, Spain is the 4th largest proA?ducer of wind generated power and is top-ranked worldwide in terms of photoA?voltaic solar power capacity.
