To further push the Digital India revolution in country’s far-flung villages, free wifi service was unveiled in Udwada village in Gujarat’s Valsad district. The Information & Broadcast Ministry picked the village for development under the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana.
Giving a boost to the digital revolution in far-flung areas across the country is one of the top priorities of the government.
The free wifi service was launched through video conference in Udwada, Valsad, Gujarat.
Choosing the village under the Saansad Adarsh Gram scheme is a step towards fulfilling PM Modi’s vision of Digital India said Smriti Irani, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
On the occasion, Manoj Sinha, Union Minister said 1 lakh gram panchayats have been connected to wifi which has ended the digital divide in the country. He said financial inclusion is making the country progress.
