Colombo to get the second tallest building of Asia

The developers of The World Capital Centre (WCC) have signed a $2 billion investment agreement with the Board Of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI) on  for what could be Asia’s second tallest building and the third tallest in the world.

The 625-meter tall building which will be constructed at the commercial heart of Colombo will consist 117 floors with 1,200 residential units, 2,000 hotel rooms, 3,000 retail outlets, 5,000car-parking spaces, 20 swimming pools among other world class amenities.

The developers also claimed that the proposed building if built today will be the third tallest building in the world after Burj Khalifa and Shanghai Tower.

The building which is likely to be constructed by 2023 will boast a huge built up area of 800,000 square meters.
