A crucial link of Telangana’s cybersecurity infrastructure – Security Operations Centre (SOC) – will be operational soon. It will be part of the proposed State Data Centre

Jayesh Ranjan, Principal secretary, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, said, “The SOC is getting finishing touches and its launch may happen either by December-end or early January, the need of the hour is to develop something robust As we become more and more digital, the vulnerabilities, the risks of cyber threats and cyber-attacks also increase manifold. In India, post demonetization, there is the significant push for digital payments. As a result, vulnerabilities have also increased in the same proportion.”

The Telangana government is also planning to develop the cybersecurity infrastructure on the lines of the one developed by the Israeli government.
